The Masked Ball

A butler stood at the door to the Cappelletti House, checking invitations and monitoring the arriving guests. Lord and Lady Cappelletti waited inside to greet their guest and people begins to arrive in masses. The musicians played quietly in the background, though soon there would be dancing. The ball room was decorated with dark red velvet draperies and red roses. The room was grand, but warm and welcoming and the Cappelletti family was all smiles and excitement.

Azzura prepared for the ball. She had been invited because she was a Cappelletti. The woman was excited. She wondered what Lilliana, Constance, and Isabella would look like. Her Blue dress shone brightly. Azzurra's eyes sparkled with joy. Another party, but this time a masquerade. She slipped her dress on and twirled in it. It looked great on her. Next she donned a blue and gold masquerade mask that fit her dress. Now Azzurra was ready for the ball. She turned and left her home and headed for the main Cappelletti home. There she handed her invitation to the Butler.

Now it was time to enter. Who was here? Cappellettis for sure, but Azzurra also guessed that Montecchis would somehow sneak their way in. Azzurra hoped that the party would go well. No fights, just a night of fun and enjoyment. Maybe tonight, Azzurra would try the drinks that women and men both drank. She blinked her eyes at the sights. The colors were bright and music was playing joyously. Food and drink had also been set out for anyone to take some. For now Azzurra just wanted to dance and have fun.
